Meet Kim!

Kim Henderson – Group Fitness Trainer

Kim has been teaching fitness classes for over 6 years with an emphasis on dance, barre, bootcamp and cycle. When she isn’t in front of your class, you can find her on a stage performing with her band throughout the Sacramento and bay area.

Growing up in an athletic family, Kim was conditioned to seek sports not only as a form of exercise, but a way to better yourself. She experimented with every sport under the sun in her teenage years and finally settled on dance, which is where her career in fitness originated. Performing with multiple theatre companies into her twenties, Kim gained a sense of pride in the hard work that goes into being a dancer; the hard work that goes into being an athlete.

It was in this moment that she decided to join her two worlds and begin inspiring others to find a format they love and run with it. Taking pride in the work you put in is a large part of Kim’s teaching philosophy and she likes that to shine through when she is instructing her bootcamp classes.

As a complete music fanatic and musician herself, you can expect to have a workout filled with bumping bass and fun electronic beats to keep your spirits lifted.

Kim’s Wellness Profile:

What Sets Inspired Wellness Apart?
Inspired Wellness is not judgmental, intimidating or cliquey. It’s not impersonal nor is it invasive. This is a place where everyone joins together under one roof with one common goal, and that is to be their best self. You can go at your own pace and watch yourself improve without feeling the pressures of those around you, as everyone else’s eyes are on their own prize. We’re just a big family that doesn’t embarrass you. Best of both worlds!

Overall Wellness Philosophy:
Doing something is better than doing nothing at all. We have all had our days where we think we will never get back to that distance, that pant size, that weight, that youth that we grasp to. But here’s the great part- it’s never too late to start over. Don’t allow yourself to wallow in your fears because they will ultimately defeat you. If you’re having crummy day, go for a walk outside, bump your tunes and get your blood flowing. Something is ALWAYS better than nothing. And you should always be proud that you made the choice to do SOMETHING!

Favorite Workout Tunes:
Hip Hop, EDM, stuff on the radio you’re sick of hearing remixed. I’m your own personal DJ afterall. Just don’t ask me to play country cause I don’t know how to dance to that.

Latest Accomplishment:
I’ve always been an avid runner and use the open road as a place to either relax or to push myself depending on my mood. Recently I made the decision to start taking my runs to the next level and completed a full marathon in the beautiful hills of San Luis Obispo. It has been my greatest fitness accomplishment to date.

Teaching Style In 3 Words:
Encouraging, Tough-Love (just count it as one word), EXCITED!

Favorite Exercises:
Squats, squats, squats. That booty isn’t going to work itself.

Hobbies:
Cooking, singing, building furniture like a stud, running, wine tasting and trying new restaurants.

Favorite Wellness Quote:
“No matter how slow your progress is, you’re still lapping everyone on the couch.”
