Meet Sara!

Sara Gonzales – Group Fitness Trainer

Sara would consider herself as an athletic person, as she was raised in an athletic driven family and was interested in all sports at a young age. Sara began her athletic journey with ballet and gymnastics as a toddler and as she grew older began to be involved in team sports such as Tennis, Track, and Soccer.

Her constant need to stay active allowed her to earn multiple scholarships to schools through the Northern California region for tennis. Through her adventures, she learned the most important parts of any athletic journey- dedications, determination, motivation and general wellness.

After leaving college, Sara continued her athletic journey, but changing her state of mind into feeling strong and healthy. Sara began training for half-marathons as well in Physique Competitions. Through this journey, she was exposed to a clean way of eating, making the most of nutrition to better herself and create positive habits for life.

Sara can now be found training at the gym, and fitting in a work out anywhere she can- including the baseball field as a coach to her son’s team.

Sara’s Wellness Profile:

What Sets Inspired Wellness Apart?
I love IW because of the environment they have created. We are not a gym where the discouragement or judgments of others is a constant pressure. You can do what you are comfortable with and you have others that will motivate you and guide along the way. You won’t find that anywhere else.

What is Your Overall Wellness Philosophy?
I believe in ensuring health and wellness of the body, mind, and spirit. With my education background in Psychology, I understand how the inner-workings of the body can really impact and influence the mind and the spirit of a person. Engaging in a healthy lifestyle, which incorporates proper diet and exercise, along with spending quality time with loved ones and individual time to regroup is the best way to maintain your health and happiness.

Favorite Workout Tunes:
I enjoy a nice mix of pop-punk to alternative and even ska and reggae. It all depends on the workout I have going. My current playlist on Spotify includes Taking Back Sunday, Chainsmokers, No Doubt, The Dirty Heads and even a little bit of Hall and Oats.

Latest Accomplishment:
I have recently completed my 2nd Gladiator Rock N Run 5k Obstacle Course and beat my previous record by 26 minutes!

Teaching Style In 3 Words:
Funny, Direct, Motivational

Favorite Exercises:
Squats, squats, and squats! I love performing any variation of squats- you name it, I love it. My favorite one is using my five-year-old on my shoulders (60 lbs) and squatting. It’s a great way to work out at home, show my son how much working out can improve you and also, allows us bonding time.

Hobbies:
I am a baseball mom through an and through. My favorite thing to do is watch my son play baseball and watching as he grow

Favorite Wellness Quote:
“The first mile is always the hardest.” This is why I always run more than one mile. J

This quote has carried me through some tough times in life because it can be carried over into anything that you do in life, whether it is professional, personal or work-out related. It’s always tough to get through, but you won’t regret it once you do.
