Amanda Flok – Group Fitness Trainer

Amanda has always been 2 things: a nerd and an athlete.  On top of being an academic scholar, Amanda excelled on the soccer field for about 22 years.

She recently traded in her soccer ball for a Footy. She has been playing Australian football for the Sacramento Suns since the beginning of the year and has become completely obsessed with it!

She is a knowledge-sponge, always seeking to take in as much new information as possible regarding health, fitness, nutrition and overall wellness.

She is excited to not only only teach, but also to learn from the clients and staff at Inspired Wellness.

What Sets Inspired Wellness Apart?
Inspired Wellness is more than a gym.  It is family where everyone is acknowledged, appreciated, and supported. I love coming in and seeing all the familiar faces and getting to know everyone a little better each time!

Overall Wellness Philosophy:
I have very holistic perspective on wellness. Wellness is not just getting to the gym as many days a week as you can. It is about being conscious of and improving on yourself on myriad levels: physically, mentally, emotionally,  socially… and nutritionally (yes, had to throw that in there!).

Favorite Workout Tunes:
I like to keep it upbeat and fresh so that it never feels repetitive! I love to throw in some of that old school funk along with more recent hip hop and pop jams!

Latest Accomplishment:
I recently found out that I have a health issue that doctors immediately prescribed medication for that made me feel a little uneasy. After consultation with our incredible leader, Sham, we have been able to address and nearly resolve my issues with a few lifestyle changes that felt difficult to adhere to at first. In only a short amount of time, I have been able to adjust to my new lifestyle and have never felt better! It feels great to overcome a medical issue with a natural course of action that is easy and better on my body.

Favorite Exercises:
Squats (Legs and booty firming! Yes!) and TRX.

Hobbies:
My partner and I have a very active lifestyle. When I’m not working out or teaching at IW, I am training for or playing Australian football with the Sacramento Lady Suns. I love spending time with family and friends and finding new great reads.  I love to cook and to find new ways to make healthy and tasty dishes!
