20 pounds, 23 inches, 16 weeks and a major reduction in medication
I have struggled with weight gain and Chronic health problems all of my life. I have always tried to eat healthy and lead an active lifestyle, yet I kept getting colds, mega allergy issues, sinus infections and asthma attacks. Which meant more visits to the doctor, more medications, and a cycle of craving a lot of sugary foods.
In 2009, I had the unhealthiest year of my life and yet I was practicing what I thought were the healthiest habits. I was working out 3 times a week with hour and a half workouts, and I would lose weight and inches for the short term, but then they would start creeping back on.
In November of 2009, I had attended a “patient appreciation Day” at one of my health partners locations.
Sham was there doing mini seminars about PH balance and testing movement. This was the day I met my “Angel” Sham. Just when I was ready to give up on everything, Sham was there to help me realize that I wasn’t alone in this struggle and he was certain he could help me break through to a healthier person.
Sham did some initial tests and a consultation. I learned nutritional tips from him and how my medications could be affecting my food choices. I went on his 3 week “detox” program in January of 2010 and immediately dropped 10 pounds, 10 inches and lost a majority of the inflammation I had been carrying around for years.
My workouts became more efficient, challenging, and yet fun. They were easy for me to do at home, or in a gym. Sham challenged me within my limits and encouraged me to push myself. I have set several small goals and have beaten each of them. My endurance has increased, I have stopped the need to take 5 different medications, my hormone levels and food cravings leveled out. And for the first time in my life, I felt like a “normal” person.
I’ve stayed the course throughout 2010, and my allergies have practically been eliminated, I’ve not had a sinus infection, or needed a breathing treatment or steroids for my asthma this entire year (this is the first time in my entire life). I’ve pushed myself through cardio workouts, that previously would stop me cold for fear of suffocation.
I’m only half way to my total goal, but the health improvements have been gigantic. I’m ready to go into 2011 with a renewed energy to conquer the last of the weight and to continue to improve on the efficiency of workouts for weight loss and toning results.

It is without hesitation that I recommend Sham Sanghera as your new Personal Trainer. Before starting with Sham I was hesitant to workout. This seemed like a prudent thing to do, as I’d had only limited experience in a gym setting and didn’t have any clear idea where I should start. Within a week of joining the gym, I got a call from Sham and set an appointment to go over my goals and begin planning our training sessions. My goals were fairly modest: gain some experience trying different things in the gym, gain a little bit of weight (I’m not a big guy – 5’8” and 130 lbs), and generally increase my activity level and get in better overall shape.
Sham set up a diet for me that was congruent with my goals, my food preferences, and my lifestyle. After that initial consultation, Sham and I quickly had our first session together. I should stress that the majority of the things Sham had me work on involved stretches and exercises that I had never seen before and would never have tried on my own. Throughout the training sessions, Sham helped me work on my balance and stability, my posture and rhythm, and strength in areas that I might not have focused on if left to my own devices. Throughout the sessions Sham consistently did an excellent job of explaining what we were doing and why, and kept a balance between motivating me to perform and respecting the reasonable limits of my ability.
In summary, my training sessions with Sham surpassed my expectations. Sham’s knowledge of the physiological bases for the workouts he orchestrated is obvious, and as a trainer he is polite, responsive, and easy to talk to. My name is Mitzi and I work for the State of California. On February 5th, 2009, (at the age of 54) I was offered a position as a Criminal Investigator, which meant I would be attending a 5 month Special Investigator’s Academy in October 2009.
