December 2019 Member Profile: Grace Dikho Younan

Every month we feature our awesome members. They are inspirational, they rock and we wouldn’t be where we are without their continued support of our wellness movement. Our December Member Profile is Grace!

What’s your favorite wellness quote?
Your beliefs become your thoughts. Your thoughts become your words. Your words become your habits. Your habits become your values. Your values become your destiny. -Mahatma Gandhi

What are some of your favorite exercises?
Squats, but pretty much anything targeting legs!!!

What motivates you to stay healthy?
Hubby, but also my own need to feel good. Keeping a healthy state of mind is what keeps me going.

What do you do to stay balanced in your daily life (hobbies)?
Walking my dog, working on my art. My art is therapeutic for me and keeps me calm to be able to work out any issues I may be dealing with.

If this food/meal were the last available on Earth and you were the lucky recipient, what would it be?
Taco flavored ground turkey with lettuce, bell peppers, and homemade dressing OR my mama’s homemade chicken and rice 😊

What are three of your upcoming goals NOW, in one year and in five years?
Lose weight and keep it off, stay consistent and balanced physically and mentally (gym routine and proper mental health routine), and always keep a positive mindset and attitude in every situation. In 5 years, I hope that these goals are just an everyday lifestyle that would be unbreakable.

What are some songs currently on your playlist?
Higher Love (Kygo and Whitney Houston); Speechless from Aladdin (Naomi Scott); Can You Feel the Love Tonight from Lion king (Beyonce, Donald Glover); Con Calma (Daddy Yankee & Katy Perry); Lose You to Love Me (Selena Gomez) –I use Apple Music, so a lot of other songs that I listen to are just via their playlists.

What do you do for fun locally?
I like to walk my dog or take him to the park (anything local usually involves my dog). I also really just love to work on my art, which does not really involve much of me discovering my neighbourhood.

Describe yourself in 3 words:
Someone once described me as beautifully weird, and I think I’ll add funny to that. Beautiful, funny and weird.

How has Inspired Wellness impacted your life?
IW gave me the tools for a change that will remain consistent and will actually last. IW taught me how to relearn to love myself, enjoy my health and wellness journey and ensure that no matter what I do, I have another family whose only concern is my mental and physical health. Without IW, I think I would have continued to spiral.
