June 2017 Member Profile: Sandra Gutierrez!

Every month we feature our awesome members. They are inspirational, they rock and we wouldn’t be where we are without their continued support of our wellness movement. Our June Member Profile is Sandra!

What’s your favorite wellness quote?
“As you grow older, you will discover that you have 2 hands, one for helping others and one for helping yourself”.

What are some of your favorite exercises?
I recently discovered that I love running.

What motivates you to stay healthy?
I am fortunate enough to be very happy with where my life is now and where it is heading and I would like to enjoy it as long as I can. To me being healthy means staying alive, which means I can enjoy everyone and everything that I have for as long as possible.

What do you do to stay balanced in your daily life (hobbies)?
The biggest thing I do is make sure to leave work on time. My job makes that hard sometimes, but going home on time means I can do fun things like woodworking, any craft project and have friends over for dinner.

If this food/meal were the last available on Earth and you were the lucky recipient, what would it be?
Pizza hands down.

What are three of your upcoming goals NOW, in one year and in five years?
NOW: Have good exercise habits (gym and running a few times a week), 1 YEAR: Start earning my hours so that I can be a licensed clinical social worker. 5 YEARS: As long as I get my LCSW, I hope to be able to buy a house…or use that money to travel!

What are some songs currently on your playlist?
I am obsessed with Sia right now…and have been for a few months.

What do you do for fun locally?
Wine tasting, I love going out to Bogle out in Clarksburg.

Describe yourself in 3 words:
Funny, loud, energetic.

How has Inspired Wellness impacted your life?
I have always disliked working out and never stuck to a gym for too long. From the first day at Inspired Wellness, I have felt comfortable and safe, even on days that I feel like the class is going to kill me. I never felt like I was being judged or looked down on when I need breaks or just couldn’t do something. Being that comfortable has kept me here long enough to see progress and has made me feel better about myself…just in time for swimsuit season! Also, it makes me feel less guilty whenever I have wine.
