November 2019 Member Profile: Meagan McPhillips!

Every month we feature our awesome members. They are inspirational, they rock and we wouldn’t be where we are without their continued support of our wellness movement. Our November Member Profile is Meagan!

What’s your favorite wellness quote?
I love the inch by inch speech by Al Pacino in Any Given Sunday. I memorized it when I was a coxswain at Sonoma State for the rowing team and recited it before each race for my team.

What are some of your favorite exercises?
I love jump squats, deadlifts, and TRX rows.

What motivates you to stay healthy?
The idea of a long, happy and healthy future with my family and friends.

What do you do to stay balanced in your daily life (hobbies)?
I volunteer at the ALS association of greater Sacramento and I am a certified U.S. rowing referee.

If this food/meal were the last available on Earth and you were the lucky recipient, what would it be?
Oh, man. It’s not very healthy but it would be veal piccata with capers and spaghetti in red sauce.

What are three of your upcoming goals NOW, in one year and in five years?
My upcoming goals now are to stick to my current workout routine. In one year I’d love to pick up another hobby like kickboxing and add it to my workout. And five years? It seems so far away! I want to be able to chase my (future) kids around and not run out of breath.

What are some songs currently on your playlist?
I just bought three new CDs! Bastille, Thomas Rhett, and Lizzo. I like the variety.

What do you do for fun locally?
I like visiting breweries and wineries in the area. It’s nice to get outside and enjoy a picnic every now and then.

Describe yourself in 3 words:
Creative, Goal-driven, Wild

How has Inspired Wellness impacted your life?
Inspired Wellness is the first gym that I’ve been able to stick with since moving to Sacramento. The trainers are super nice and always willing to help with any questions. Working out at IW as given me more confidence in myself. It has helped me realize that I can reach my goals and improve my health and happiness without feeling like it’s a chore. I’m very thankful for it!
