June 2018 Member Profile: Brittany!

Every month we feature our awesome members. They are inspirational, they rock and we wouldn’t be where we are without their continued support of our wellness movement. Our June Member Profile is Brittany!

What’s your favorite wellness quote?
“Always keep moving forward” My dad always tells me that.

What are some of your favorite exercises?
Hitting the punching bag with short breaks.

What motivates you to stay healthy?
This is really a challenge for me. However, I have a really hard time buying larger clothes. It forces me to reflect on what I am actively doing to move forward.

What do you do to stay balanced in your daily life (hobbies)?
I try to walk my dogs daily. I’ve also started doing food prep on Sundays. I’m not perfect, but I really try to get something for the week. I also enjoy watching trashing reality TV before bed.

If this food/meal were the last available on Earth and you were the lucky recipient, what would it be?
Oh man! Carb in general. Pesto, ravioli, or tortellini with garlic bread and a crap of parmesan cheese!

What are three of your upcoming goals NOW, in one year and in five years?
I would like to make it to IW at least 3x per week minimum. In a little over 1 year, I would hope to finish my Master’s Degree at Sac State. In 5 years I would hopefully like to have a significant amount of my student loans paid off.

What are some songs currently on your playlist?
I love Leon Bridges for non-workout music. I like Nerd’s new album (Pharrell) and I know it’s old but B.O.B by (Outkast) I think they’re both so fun to workout too.

What do you do for fun locally?
I still have trouble with this since I’m newer out here. I enjoy going to old town Sac. I really enjoy shopping and eating out, I also like bowling and arcade games (I’m really good at air hockey).

Describe yourself in 3 words:
Straightforward, outgoing, loud!

How has Inspired Wellness impacted your life?
I was hiding a lot of pain that I didn’t know I had. Working out at IW has really made me face some of my fears and insecurities, as my dad says “Always keep moving forward”.
